...good times, people, good times. and it would have been nothing without
YOU
nyc is a schedule, cut and dry: donut to noodles to broadway to pedicure to fried chicken to fireworks to kombucha to gallery to cinema. everything is accessible by 5 minutes and there’s never a reason to be late. DOGTOOTH i enjoyed. it’s kind of a mean spirited STROSZEK about a greek family whose father has created an island free from persuasion. it’s off enough to check out... i also got an opportunity to see I WAS BORN, BUT... Superb. it’s a silent film by Yasujiro Ozu that’s rarely screened about two brothers who start to doubt their father. A big yes and thumbs up aplenty. foodwise, i ate lots and lots of donuts at the DOUGHNUT PLANT
and had pretty decent fried chicken at Pies & Things in Wburg but honestly... i’m pretty proud of my OWN fried chicken and BOBS at the farmers market LA still remains doughnut no. 1 in my world. on broadway it was the addams vs. next to normal and i gotta go with uncle fester and the moon but damn, Alice Ripley was pretty phenomenal.
show wise, the Wburg Waterfront was kind of unstoppable. as far as sheer drama and beauty and performing enjoyment i found it to be one of the highlights of my career. honestly. my friends told me that the view of the water and the city behind used to be the backdrop that the AUDIENCE looked at. for now and for our shows WE, the BAND had that view and it was beautiful. day one was wobbly as wobbly goes for the first show in a series but still just incredible, a more beautiful night i’ve never seen. Mann Center in philly... similarly phenomenal in a much different way. gorgeous venue, fantastic crowd. last night’s final performance back at the Waterfront totally rocked. much props to RAHZEL for joining us...

...and for James Chance and Neil Hamburger for making it all
special. most of all, though, NYC, for you and your outlying
burroughs. really just summed up the end of our American
dates in a succinct and beautiful way.
good times,
xo...
